Quite obviously, it's an old word in Arabic meaning "to tilt"
which has acquired a new meaning as a loanword from Europe,

2 - C. Arabic "hnd": A hundred camels, a hundred of other things, two
hundred years, and a hundred years.

In the first place, we have to put hind in its Arabic word-family :
Hind : a troup of 100 or 200 camels,
Hindâr : a measure
muhandir : a geometrician, an architecte
mahandis : a geometrician

hind means "a measure of " camels.

Kmt-om should be x_m_th in Arabic.

If one doesn't come to the logical conclusion that "myl" & "hnd" are a
perfect match (in form and meaning) to "mile" and "hund", then we might as
well believe in a parallel universe.

*BEFORE* you grope for individual matches ?
