No he doesn't. He lists as one of many "Nominalbildungen"
*dh-i- (i.e. *dhh1-i-), and the forms given are: Skt.
ni-dh-í-s m. `Behälter, Schatz', sam-dh-í-s m. `Vereinigung,
Bündnis, Sandhi', Av. gao-di- `Milchbehälter'; Lit. pãdis
`der Henne unterlegtes Ei'. The -i- is not part of the
root, it is part of the i-stem nominal derivation.
