So, if Finnish is not Uralic, what is it? On the
Wikipedia site they give a pretty convincing argument
that it's related to Saami, Estonian, Hungarian et al.
Is that a conspiracy?

I miswrote what I meant.

I meant Finnish features cannot be taken
to be inherited from proto-Uralic.
If Finnish has -i-
it does not mean Proto-Uralic had it.

Sorry for the obscurities.

Finnish is obviously an Uralic language.
