Moderator's request (I mean it this time!)

Dear Cybalisters,

We, the moderators, have been busy trimming down overlong trailing
quotations in the postings of some members and removing HTML versions
from their messages. Since almost all of those who fail to format their
e-mail according to out technical recommendations are very active
posters, the problem is rather acute. Posts sent as HTML end up in the
lists Spam folder. If the situation doesn't improve, we shall have to
start DELETING the messages classified as "spam" by the server. Let me
refresh your memory:

1. Post plain-text messages rather than HTML. Fancy backgrounds,
colours and fonts are dispensable.

...

4. When responding to others' postings, quote only those fragments
of the original message that you want to reply to. In particular, do not
quote whole threads. Make sure that the quotations are properly marked,
so that one can easily see who wrote what.

...

Configuring your e-mail client so that it should send plain text rather
than HTML to the list takes less than a minute. Formatting the
quotations to remove irrelevant parts -- barely more than that. If you
don't know how to change the client's options, don't be afraid to ask.

Best regards,

Piotr
