What semantics would it have? Semantics-less morphemes are suspect.

The same as in Semitic : agent or place or instrument.

Morphemes not always have "good" clear-cut semantics.

A certain number of French words display a strange #ca- as first syllable

and it very hard to understand what this #ca- stands for :

It has only a vague derogatory connotation.
