Persian chroniclers of the 10th c. called them Majghars.
Two centuries later, king Be´la's anonymous notary P.
wrote "mogerii":

"...ita et genealogiam regum hungarie et nobilium suorum
qualiter septem principales persone que __hetumoger__ uocantur
de terra scithica descenderunt, ..."

[hetu -> he´t "seven"]

"...populus de terra scithica egressus per ydioma alienigenarum
hungarij et in sua lingua propria __mogerij__ uocantur tibi
scriberem."
