I don't recall the details, but IIRC, the inscription is engraved in a
circle along the surface of the ring and it was suggested that it
ought to be read the other way round (backwards), i.e. something like
ASUES SOTER EG, with ASUES = ASIAS and SOTER as the Greek
so:te:r "saviour". This interpretation assumes that it's just wrongly
written Greek, not Thracian.
