I've discussed this before:

I've modified this theory since then, but most of the complications
are irrelevant for comparison; simplifying, it's basically:

nom. gYh(e)l-xW-dó:n
weak gYh(e)l-xW-dn+

with changes in many so that:

nom. gYh(e)l-xW-dó:n > gYh(e)l-x-dwó:n
weak gYh(e)l-xW-dn+ > gYh(e)l-Vnd+

then mixing in the paradigm to gYh(e)l-Vndwó:n or some similar form
which then may suffer dissimilation of n-n, metathesis, etc:

To Latin:

gYhel-xW-dó:n
gYhel-u-dó:n
gYhel-u-dó:n gYhel-und+
gYhel-un-dó:n gYhel-und+
gYhil-un-dó:n gYhel-und+

To Greek:

gYhel-xW-dó:n
gYhel-x-dwó:n
gYhel-i-dwó:n
gYhel-i-dwó:n gYhel-ind+
gYhel-in-dwó:n gYhel-ind+
gYhel-i:-dwó:n gYhel-ind+ dis.

To Celtic:

gYhel-xW-dó:n
gYhel-x-dwó:n
gYhel-i-dwó:n
gYhel-i-dwó:n gYhel-ind+
gYhel-in-dwó:n gYhel-ind+
gYhel-in-dwu:n gYhel-ind+
gYhel-i-dwu:n gYhel-ind+ dis.
gYhel-dwu:n gYhel-ind+
gYhel-wu:nd gYhel-ind+ met.

To Albanian:

gYhl-xW-dó:n
gYhl-x-dwó:n
gYhl-a-dwó:n
gYhl-a-dwó:n gYhl-and+
gYhl-an-dwó:n gYhl-and+
gYhal-an-dwó:n gYhal-and+
gYhal-an-dwu:n gYhal-and+
gYhal-an-du:n gYhal-and+
gYhal-an-du:s gYhal-and+ dis.
