Of course. The best-known example is *k^won- 'dog'. Note that the
prevocalic nil grade is *k^un-, showing the bisegmental composition of
the onset. There are also word-initial *Cw- onsets involving other
phonations, e.g. *g^Hwer- 'wild animal'.
