I'd look at the IE root of Latin verres (vel. sim.)
for these. Basque urde seems to be from Latin. Iberian
languages often have /rr/ ~ /rd/
So verres > uerre > urre > urde. I'd also check ALL
Basque dialects instead of the ONE that Bengtsen
checked that was closest to his hypothesis.
Bengtsen has interesting things to say but he seems to
cherry-pick too much.
