You seem to assume that the opt. ll is from analogy, but any ll may
opt. become l in Gk (not the newer ll < ln or ly):

*kàrttlós > *kàrt_los > *kàrtllos > kartal(l)os 'basket'

*dhl,+Lo+ (a diminutive) > thal(l)os 'twig'

*d.óru+sèdó+ > *d.(e)rusdó+ 'tree-sitting, thrush'

*kYórud.rusdó+ 'crested perching bird' >
*kYórud.usdó+ > *kórud_zdo+ >
kórudos 'crested lark'

*kYórud.rusdLó+ (a diminutive) >
*kYórud.usdLó+ > *kórud_zdLo+ > *kórud_Lo+ >
*kórudLLo+ > korudallis, -alos, etc. 'crested lark'

The source of pHál(l)aina is:

*bhl+Lo+s or *bhel+Lo+s (weak L+ > u+) 'little swelling, testicle,
etc.' >

*bhl,+Lo+s > Gk phallos

*bhelLos bhelu+ > *bhollos bholu+ mix> *ballu+ > ball

*bhl,Lon.+ > *bullan+

*bhl,Ln.+ > *bull+ (and mixing with above)

*bhl,Ln.+ix (fem. voc.) > *bhl,Ln,ya > pHál(l)aina
