This 'river' word comes from the word for 'water'
with reduplication. The sequence xkYw > xpY between
vowels. This is spread throughout the paradigm. The
word forms a derivative in -o:n. which happens to
undergo sound changes in different IE languages. The
meaning of the words isn't certain; each can mean
'river' or 'water'.

xakYú+s -w+[vowel+tone]
xaxkYú+s xx,pY+[vowel+tone]

That is derived from:

xaxakYw+
xaxkYw+
xaxpY+

and forms:

xaxpY+ón.+ xx,pYn.+[vowel+tone]

To various languages:

xaxpY(ó)n.+ > aphrós 'foam' in Greek
