Because of sanskrit dám- and dámpati-, and greek despóte:s ... from
*déms-poti- or something, a root noun from *dem(h1?) 'to build', as in
greek démo: &c &c.

A very good question. If it had the same gender as in sanskrit, it
should be neuter [an affirmation with question intonation here]... then:
yód néwom. Ah, I just thought, maybe I should use it like latin aedis ; ).
