Hello
i'm interesting about Bibrax/Bibracte etymology

Usually Bibrax and Bibracte were translated by the "city of the
beavers" cf Beaver from IE Beber/Bebro
I would like to propose you another linguistic direction :
and new segmentation Bi-Brak(s)-To =

From Bi = to strike
IE Bheia = to strike
celtic Bi-/Bio- = to strike
cf old Irish Art-be = bear killer and Fail-be = Wolf killer
cf Celtic Beialis = Axe/Hatchet
Welsh Beadhae/Bwyell. Irish Biail
Old german Bihal<German Beil. Old Norse Bilda. Old Suedish Bil
(Sword). English Bill. Deutch Hakbijl.

From Brak/Brag from IE Breg(h) = to break

so Bibrax/Bibracte oppidum is "the strike-choc" = town resists an
attack/choc = impregnable town
What do you think about this ?
