Hmmm...that's an interesting question...
Greek Ge:ryon could come from *Ga:ruHon < *Gawa-ruHon, where *Gawa- could be from some Thraco-Illyrian-like adstratum or substratum.

Trisiras is referred to as "Goarnes" - 'rich in cattle'.
Could Goarnes be a cognate of Geryon ??
