I am aware that plain velars didn't palatalized in Albanian, but, it
seems that I have understood your that labiovelars underwent
palataization, so I was a little bit surprised.
I think that <dergjem> should be from *sworgh-sk'o-mai with regular
R - V > V - R, when vowel isn't in stressed position.
Alb. <kohë> with Slavic <c'asU> are still without any strong
etymology: Hemps reconstructs it as *ke:sk'a: or *kek'sa, but
Cimochowski, if I remember it good, as *kWe:sk'a.
My assumption is that it could be a cognate of latin cascus 'old'
through dissimilation *k'a:sk'eH2 > PAlb. ka:sk'a:, synonymic in
many contexts with <moshë> 'age'.
Alb. <gjej> 'to find, beget', Standard Albanian form, is probably
from *ghed-n-yo > gjanj 'to get, beget' etc.
