Thematic endings

I'm looking for an informed opinion on Robert S.P. Beekes' suggestion that the IE thematic 3rd sg. present primary active ending (indicative) was *-e, and the 3rd pl. present primary active ending was *-o.  He also says that the corresponding middle ending was *-o (intransitive; transitive *-to) for the singular, and *-ro (intransitive, transitive *-ntro) for the plural.  How does this square with Mr. Gasiorowski's presentation of *wid-é as a 3rd sg. present primary middle, and are *-e and *-o widely accepted as the probable IE 3rd person thematic primary endings of the present active(as opposed to *-eti, *-onti)?  I need to know current accepted theory.
