If IE, < *wonos or *gWhonos ?
 *wonos, from *wen- "to desire, to love" seems plausible for such deities, but there are another cognates out of Germanic for this form *wonos?

Another possibility is an a-stem with a suppletive i-stem plural
(historically a "tribal" collective).
