Áss-Asura-Ahura: a god, instead of a class of gods?

1. I was thinking about the dichotomy Aesir x Vanir, Olympians x Titans, Devas x Asuras, and became to follow a new idea: maybe asura was originally a god's name and later became associated to a class of gods.

I thinks this IE god *H2ensus or *H2ensuros was the Dumezilian Terrible Sovereign.

So, we'd have Áss Odinn and Asura Varuna, instead of later Odinn Áss and Varuna Asura.

2. What is the singular form of Vanir?

If Vanir belongs to the u-class, why it was not Vo,nir? or Venir, with i-umlaut? cf. Áss, Aesir (<*Ansuz, *Ansiwiz)

3. Titan
A sugestion about Titan's etymology: from IE *do:- "to giver", something like "The Givers (of richesses)".
