Oh again -- thank you for demystifying me. But is your interest in Finnish due to your ethnic origin, or do you just find the Finnish language beautiful or its literature interesting or something like that? Such knowledge is valuable in a forum such as this one, I would think.

I read this list regularily. I don't have much knowledge, so
consequently I post infrequently. Most of my posts concern Finnish or
FU generally. I have an interest in Finnish and do have a few
etymological dictionaries. If I notice something that is contrary to
what I think I know, I may check the post against accepted Finnish
thinking on a particular word and sort of regurgitate the result here.

Finnish of course is not an IE language, but perhaps half the
dictionary entries are loans from IE languages. Also Finnish may
preserve borrowed words better than the actual donor languages, in
some instances.

Of course Google is my friend, also.
