****GK: Actually that's not quite what "Mr. George"
(:=)) claims. At this point in time I'm inclined to
believe that the area of the Dnipro-Donetsk, Surska,
Lower Mykhajlivka (Ukraine) and Samara, Khvalynsk
(Russia) cultures are the areas where the IE more than
likely emerged as a distinct collectivity. They're not
all "steppe" areas strictly speaking. I used "steppe"
rather loosely for "Western Eurasia". And I was rather
discussing Indo-Iranian problems in that context.
"Ideal" in the sense of being more compatible with the
evidence at hand than any other theory. But I can
always change my mind if proper proof of something
better surfaces.*****
