May I use this opportunity to remind everybody of the following
technical recommendation:
"When responding to others’ postings, quote only those fragments of the
original message that you want to reply to. In particular, do not quote
whole threads. Make sure that the quotations are properly marked, so
that one can easily see who wrote what.(5) If your reply drifts away
from the original topic, change the subject line (e.g. 'IE loanwords in
Hurrian [was: The Indo-Iranian homeland]')."
Finally (and this is specifically for Mayuresh Kelkar) -- I'm not always
sure when you speak for yourself and when S. Kalyanaraman uses you to
post his opinions on Cybalist. Some of the postings sent by you are
signed by him, others are not but still bear his unmistakable stylistic
signature :-). You are surely two different, grown-up people, each
responsible for his own words. If he wants to write here, he is welcome
to join the list again and do so personally. Please do not act as a
go-between for him.
