Patrick,

So Ud- means "out"
And Ur developed its meaning as "original" not because it refers to
the subject (say the child) that which came out of the original....
but rather it refers to the core object (the parent) from which the
child originated?
Is that what you are suggesting?

So then my impression of Uz- as meaning "that which is out" (or some
such) is incorrect, and a more appropriate meaning would be "that
from which things come out" or "that from which things derive"...
hence "original"?

Sincerely,
Aydan
