Thanks for your answar, Piotr.

My post was formulated as a question, not in order to propagate any
firm opinion.

I actually wondered if the antique Greek language could have evolved
from a coalescence of several mutually unintelligible, but still still
closely related indo-european languages, and that the main dialectical
variations was a reminiscent of these original language borders.
