Without calling Dacian in ecuation, apparently the languages we know
seem to explain the Slavic word. The word looks like a regular
development of a Germanic (Gothic drectly?) "gruba" (cognate with Rom.
"groap�", Alb. "grop�" which will yeld regular "hruba" in Slavic with g

hmmm "hrap�" (regionalism) means "ravine"; I wonder if in relation with
"r�p�" since hte meaning is appropiate and the phonetic form looks
appropiate. The problem of "h" there makes the word very curious.
