I don't try to equate Janus and Jove and I don't negate the Janus as
being the good of portals. I just suggest Januarius _was not_ the first
month of the year in the ancient calendar but the 11-th month. The name
of the month is best represented in the Mycean *enuwaliyos I don't see
any connection here with "portal" and Janus for the 11-th month of the
year. Does someone know this connection?
