"2"

I have the data here before me:

Nax s^i-
Avar-Andi k.i-, k.e-
Tsez q.IWe-
Dargva k.e-, c.Wa-
Xinalug k.u
Lak k.i-
Lezgian q.IWe-
Archi q.IWe-
Udi ppaI-
Abxaz/Abaza ¿W&-, yW&-
Adyge/Kab. t.WI&
Ubyx t.q.Wa

(where I signifies pharyngealization).

If all these forms are related, they can go back to *t.q.u ~
*t.q.wi-, simplified to /(t.)t.W&/ in Adyge/Kabardian, to
/(q.)q.Wi-/ or /(k.)k.Wi/ elsewhere. The ¿ayn in Abaza is a
weakening of initial q.-. The c.W- in Dargva, as shown by
the form k.e- in the main dialect, is a palatalization of
/k.W/ before a front vowel.
