Re: Unusual Phonolgy

This is only a guess from me. Probably the original sound was a
doubly articulated one, for example a pharyngalized ts, something
like the emphatic sounds in Arabic.


Then one of the articulatory components was lost in both languages,
but not the same one. This could make such a strange correspondance.
