Focusing in this "watery" subject, an idea ocurrs:
Greek Pontos "sea", usually analysed as <*pentH2- "way, bridge" (cf. pons, puti, panthan-), would be more logically <*H2p-wont-o- "watery", akin to Sanskrit a:pavant-.
