Well, Hitt. <akkalan> also speaks against *g^.

I read in Melchert that Oettinger sees <akkalan> not as
"furrow" as a kind of plow. A connection with *ok^-,
*o:k^-, *ak^- "sharp" seems likely (cf. *ok^eta: "Egge", and
the words with -l- formants listed in IEW).
