The only Sanskrit _nud_ I could find (

basically means 'push', and I cannot see a connection. Pokorny
derives Sanskrit _nud_ from *neu number 2, root number 1381, 'push;
nod'. It's conceivable that your source has confused this with *neu
number 1, root number 1380 'call, praise'
