Ah, of course. I should've thought of this already. :) What you
say is also in accordance with my hypothesis that the to-participle
employs the "adjectival genitive" -- that is, given an agent noun
like *dexWt-s 'giver', the genitive form of this noun *d(e)xWt-ós
used periphrastically would (come to) mean 'from the giver'
