*****GK: The best working on-line instrument for
reading and analyzing the Tale of Bygone Years (the
first part of the Kyivan Chronicle that will take you
from the "beginnings" to the year 1116) is Daniel
Ostrowski's: cf.
http://hudce7.harvard.edu/~ostrowski/pvl/
The texts are in Old Ukrainian and Old Russian.

You don't have to agree with all of his analyses (I
don't), but he does provide you with the full text on
the basis of the most important manuscripts. You get
the most significant variants and can draw your own
conclusions. He has an excellent bibliography, even if
not quite complete.******

******GK: To tell you the truth, I'm not sure, since I
don't use this route. Perhaps someone else might
advise.******
