They are both corvids, and rather similar ones (especially if the crow
is the East European light-grey-and-black variety. Names may "jump" from
species to similar species. E.g. American "robins", "jays" and "elk" are
not the same creatures as European robins, jays and elk.

Who said the city was called Black Bird? I didn't.
