I guess you don't need it. I don't want to make any reference to the
examples given by you but if I am not mistaking too much, I remember
that IE "o" yelded Alb. "a" and the vocalic difference is in fact no
difference, but the expected result of a common word since in Rom.
the IE "o" yelded "o" which under some cricumstances became "u".

Thus "a" versus "u" or versus "o" appears to be a regular reflex if
the original vocal in the IE word was an "o" ( the short one so far I
remember).
