I was told that there are 3 Hindi words for aircraft:-
(1) [hava_i_ jaha_z] (which is also the Urdu word) = "air device".
[hava_] = "air" came from Arabic.
(2) [va_yuya_na] = Sanskrit for "wind traveller".
(3) [vima_na].

But I knew one Indian who told me that in his word usage [va_yuya_na]
= "aircraft" and [vima_na] = "UFO".

A year or two ago there in India there was an incident with an
ordinary real airliner, and UK TV showed an Indian government man
speaking about it, probably in Hindi, and in his speech I clearly
heard the word "vima_na".
