records as Arunash,
Question:
1) Is there a Proto-Indo-Iranian or at least
Proto-Indo-Aryan *Varunas who became *Arunas in Mitani? Is there any Iranian
register of *Varunas?
2) Or, the opposite idea, the Indo-Iranian god was
*Arunas, who became Varuna in India through some folk-etymology or
corruption?
