But you still haven't answered Miguel's objections: why do we have *u
in the first protoform and zero in the other? Such a vacillation
looks rather unusual (other possible examples?), as does
Schwebeablaut *-ro- ~ *-or- you seem to propose. "See Derksen again"
is not a proper answer since there seems to be no relevant
information at iiasnt.leidenuniv.nl.
