Película = film: a thin membranous covering or layer that
forms on the surface of liquids or biological tissues; a
thin, flexible and transparent layer of cellulose or similar
synthetic material. From Latin pellicula "skinlet" (pellis
"skin" -icula "diminutive"). English "film" is also derived
from a Germanic word for "skin", OE fell, Ge. Fell, Du. vel.
English "movie" is short for "moving picture".
