Spurious Emails

The moderator a list of which I am a member has recently warned
that "personal messages received from radha_canada, matham, and
teasrini ids may contain dangerous attachments, the origins of
which are not known." Since my e-mail ID is included among those
that may carry dangerous attachments, let me make the following
clarification:

I am aware of spurious e-mails that are made to appear to originate
from my e-mail ID. I have received several times returned e-mails
which I hadn't sent in the first place. These e-mails are not
originating from my PC. They are forged and made to appear to
originate from my e-mail ID. I have come to know from a few others
that they too face similar problems. This is the problem of having
one's e-mail ID in the 'public domain'. No spurious e-mails have been
encountered with my other e-mail IDs as the originating address -- in
fact, I use these other e-mail IDs more frequently than the
ID "radha_canada", but because they are not in the public domain,
they are not forged. This shows that the spurious e-mails are not
generated within my PC, for, if it were so, there should have been
many spurious e-mails with my other e-mail IDs as the originating
address.

Let me bring to the attention of list members that I don't normally
send personal e-mails to list members. I generally send my personal
e-mails using e-mail IDs other than "radha_canada". So, if anybody
receives any suspicious personal e-mail from "radha_canada" please
don't open it but delete it at once.

I have received several spurious e-mails from the IDs of list members
of various lists and I usually immediately notify them when I receive
such e-mails. So, if any list member receives a spurious e-mail from
my e-mail ID, please send me a private e-mail to let me know of it.

Thanks and Regards,
