I'd like to give what I think is a possible explanation:

*-mé:n < *-méns < *-máns
*´-mo:n < *´-mons < *´-m@... (< *´-mans ?)
*-té:r < *-térs < *-társ
*´-to:r < *´-tors < *´-t@... (< *´-tars ?)
