<ghetzuri> is the only plural for the word (at least in
DR), regardless of the pronunciation and spelling
of the singular (gheatza, ghiatza, g'atza). But, actually,
"ice" has no plural except for certain semantic situations:
(vast) surfaces of ice, as of polar ice or big chunks in
rivers, lakes, sea. (The Rum. dictionary points this out.)
Otherwise, nobody needs the plural.

A simple [e], i.e. no diphtong, is also in the noun
describing the "freezing" as well as in the corresp.
verb: <înghetz>, <a înghetza>. Hence <înghetzata>
"icecream; gelata". (Phonet.: those relevant subdialectal
areas I mentioned in previous posts, simply replace
[g] with [g'], without any diphtongation, as in some
Slavic languages.)
