Michael, if this is so we must remember that the Ph in Caphtor is
the
Greek Phi, equivalent to the English F. Thus if you say that the
Biblical Caphtor is the Uagritic K-P-T-R, and this explains how
Biblical Caphtor got an R whereas Egyptian Keftiu did not - you
still
have to explain how Ugaritic P became an F in the Biblical account.

And here Michael, I do have a conclusion as to how this happened.

1. The Egyptians experience confusion as to the real location of
Keftiu - was it "with the northern isles" or was it is Syria.

2. There is serious doubts about the location of Akkadian Kaptara -
was it Crete, Cyprus, Cilia or now Egypt.

3. If Kaptara KPTR comes from Hekw-ka-Ptah, how do you explain the
disappearance of the Egyptian H- and the transformation of -ah to an
-R.

Definitely, they thought Greece and Italy were "northern islands".
They had no idea (until the Iron Age and Phoenician sailors) of the
existence of a European continent. They thought an archipelago of
separate islands separated Asia from Libya.

Can you give me the post number and I'll check it out
