Which reminds me. While re-reading Shchukin the other
day (his essay on Slavic origins) I noticed a
reference to the following work: F. Braun, Raziskaniia
v oblasti goto-slavyanskikh otnosheniy, SPB (St.
Petersburg) 1899, p. 112.= Braun mentions five (5)
surviving words from the Bastarnian language, two of
which he thinks can be explained from Germanic, while
three remain mysterious. Would someone have access to
this book? (perhaps Alex Stolbov? He's in St
Petersburg). ******
