In my, older, edition: "(1) sigh; (2) suffering".
The Romanian dictionary doesn't explain the possible
etymology, nor does it say where exactly (in which
region and why) this word is spread/in use. But it
says it is... rare. I.e., the overwhelming majority of
the populace in Romania and diaspora hasn't ever
heard/read <aht, plural ahturi>. Me included. Either
it is an old word, or it is a loanie which has had
a limited area.
OTOH_1, the onomatopeic <ah!> is pan-(Daco)Romanian.
OTOH_2, <a ahtiá> + participle/adj <ahtiát,-ã> are
are known (to crave for/desire; greedy). According
to the dictionary, both are <aht> reflexes.
