Indeed, <hakmarrje>, <gjakmarrje> are synonyms of <ahmarrje>, to my
view, shortened form, as happen always in compounds, of <aht-
marrje>. Loosing primary meaning 'course' (preserved in many nominal
syntagm, cf. <ahti i nënës> 'the anathema of her mother'; <e zuri
ahti i fëmijëve> 'he was punished by children's anathema') it was
later reshaped in <hakmarrje> and <gjakmarrje>.
