Sorry - I was reading/typing a bit fast today, and didn't check my
post very carefully.
I meant to say that English saddle may come from PIE o-grade *sod-
dhlo-m (according to Watkins, DIER) with related forms OE setl & OHG
sezzal coming from PIE *sed-lo-m.
