Even you are not sure about the proper form, I think that it is very
similar to Illyrian place name Narona (today Norin, due to replacing
of Illyrian suffix -ona with probably Slavic genitive ending -in and
regular evolution a > o). According to Pokorny, the root is *ner-
3 'to conceal, cover, hiding place, hollow'.
