Aha. Thank you. (I heard of this Xmas log tree years
ago mentioned by the linguist Cicerone Poghirc.) I
still don't get the connection (pagan?) Yule log--Xmas,
but it doesn't matter for the Romanian language: AFAIK,
no one links <crãciun> with a log (the word for that
would be then <buSteán>; according to my own Sprach-
kompetenz, no native-speaker would choose <butúc>).
