In February 1998, the Romanian slavist Gheorghe Mih?il? had a presentation
in front of the Romanian Academy on “Despre Cr?ciun si alte probleme
etimologice” [“On Christmas and others etymological problems”] in which he
explained, among other things, that the Novgorod Chronicle is, in fact, only
a latter variant on a earlier text originally from the ukrainian regions.
